Sep. 19 declared a special govt holiday

 

The Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government says that September 19 (Monday) will be declared as a special holiday for all government institutions.

Sri Lanka has declared September 19 as a day of mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, who was the Head of the Commonwealth from 1952 to 1972 and Queen of Sri Lanka, who passed away on September 8.
