Research on antibody responses after sinopharm second dose

A regional study found that, especially in people over 60 years of age, the antibody response decreases in all age groups 12 weeks after vaccination with sinopharm.

It was conducted by a team of virologists from Sri Lanka and the University of Oxford by examining the immune responses of a group of Sri Lankans to determine the motility and existence of the immune response after Sinoform / BBIBP-Corvey. Antibody responses decreased in all age groups, especially those over 60 weeks after the second dose, and T-cell responses persisted.

USJ researchers, including Professor Neelika Malavige and Dr. Chandima Jeewandara of the Allergy Immunology and Cell Biology Unit of Immunology and Molecular Medicine, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, are responding to various types of covid-19 vaccines used in Sri Lanka.
