Parliamentarian's asset info further delayed.

A landmark ruling of the Right to Information Commission (RTIC) has ordered the parliament to release information on members of Parliament who have not submitted their declarations of assets and liabilities.

 

Aayubo news contacted the parliament and was told that as a court case is pending on the matter they are not in a position to respond to the information request at this point of time.

 

The appeal process regarding this request by journalist Chamara Sampath has taken more than two years and now with a court case pending there may be further delays in people knowing the assets of the representatives whom they elect.
