Operations at Kerawalapitiya power plant suspended

The water level in the reservoirs is declining rapidly due to the lack of rainfall in the catchment areas that supply water to the hydro power plants.

It is reported that the power outage could be extended to at least 10 hours from next week due to the prevailing situation.

Meanwhile, it is reported that the operations of the Kerawalapitiya power plant have been temporarily halted due to a shortage of fuel for power generation.
