Medical experts say there are commercial motives behind the anti-vaccine campaign

There is a tendency to criticize the covid vaccine to promote some other therapies, says Professor Manuj Weerasinghe, Head of the Department of Community Medicine at the University of Colombo.

He says that social media encourages such controversies and promotes such campaigns to increase their ratings.

The professor also said that when the vaccine was introduced around the world over the years, there were anti-vaccine campaigns.
