Many more countries join resolution against Sri Lanka

A local politician commented ‘’coming colours no good’’ after hearing that more than 40 countries have added their signatures to the resolution to be moved against Sri Lanka at the United Nations Human Rights Council according to informed sources most of these are countries are from the west.

 

These countries will identify themselves as,  co-sponsors or additional co-sponsors. making it an uphill task for the Government to defeat it, Daily Mirror learns.

 

Informed sources say that Marshal Islands and Malawi are the only two non-European or western countries to sign it. Among the forty-odd countries, 12 states have voting rights at the UNHRC making it a challenging task for Sri Land to defeat the resolution.
