MP Diana Gamage goes to the Supreme Court

Diana Gamage, a Member of Parliament, has filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the removal of Samagi Jana Balawega (JJB) from the party.

 

The petitioner stated that she was not a Member of Parliament but a Member of Parliament who acted independently and in accordance with her conscience as required by the SJB Constitution.

 

In a letter dated October 08, 2021, the petitioner requested that the decision to expel her from the SJB be declared unconstitutional by the SJB.

 

Gamage stated that the party's decision to expel her from the party was illegal and contrary to natural justice.
