Low -income families and samurdhi recipients to receive Rs. 5000 cash allowance for festive season

State Minister of Samurdhi, Household Economy, Micro Finance, Self-Employment and Business Development Shehan Semasinghe stated that initiatives have been taken by the Presidential Task Force for Economic Revival and Poverty Eradication and the Department of Samurdhi Development to provide a cash allowance of Rs. 5,000 to Samurdhi recipients and low-income families.

 

The above decision has been reached on account of the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

 

Accordingly, instructions have been provided to the Samurdhi officers to take the required measures to hand over the cash allowance to relevant families before the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
