Indictments against former Navy Commander Wasantha Karannagoda withdrawn

The Attorney General informed the Court of Appeal today that the indictment against former Navy Commander Wasantha Karannagoda in connection with the abduction of 11 persons will be withdrawn from the Colombo High Court.

The Court of Appeal has issued an interim injunction against a case filed against former Navy Commander Karannagoda in the Colombo High Court.

The Attorney General had indicted former Navy Commander Wasantha Karannagoda and 13 others for abducting, torturing, extorting and plotting to kill 11 people in 2008 and 2009.
