IMF is personally planning Operation Sri Lanka in the coming weeks for policy discussions

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is planning a staff-level operation in Sri Lanka in the coming weeks to "negotiate policy on a program," the agency's spokesman Jerry Rice said in Washington on Thursday (June 9).

The next step is to build on the technical discussions already underway with the Sri Lankan authorities in May.
