First-ever sandalwood garden in SL

In Battaramulla, the government plans to open the country's first-ever state-funded sandalwood garden. The recreational area, titled "National Sandun Uyana," will be Sri Lanka's national sandalwood garden.

 

 

The garden has already begun to be built on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's and Minister of Urban Development and Housing Mahinda Rajapaksa's directives, and it would be open to the public soon. According to a press statement. by The Urban Development Authority (UDA) has already planted 1,000 sandalwood trees in the garden.
