Colombo reports 438 cases

The Colombo district recorded 438 cases as the highest, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said. Island-wide 2,275 cases were reported yesterday They said the Gampaha district stood next with 410, Kalutara 241, Kurunegala 100, Galle 261, Nuwara Eliya 179 and Kandy with 138.

 

Pradeep Gunawardene, chairman of the Lanka Salu Sala Limited passed away this morning at the Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) Hospital, Werahera while under treatment for COVID, the hospital sources said. Seventy Grama Niladhari Divisions in ten Districts have been isolated from 6.00 this morning, Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said.

 

Accordingly, six GN Divisions in Batticaloa District, twelve GN Divisions in Trincomalee District, twenty-four GN Divisions in Kurunegala District, one GN Division in Gampaha District, nine GN Divisions in Rathnapura District and two GN Division in Galle District have been isolated.

 

In addition, one GN Division in Ampara District, four GN Divisions in Kalutara District, two GN Divisions in Matale District and nine GN Divisions in Nuwara Eliya District have also been isolated.
