A 16-year-old maid at Bathiudeen's house who was burnt to death has died at the hospital

The 16-year-old girl was admitted to hospital with burn injuries while working as a housemaid at the house of former minister Rishad Bathiudeen in Borella and died at the Colombo National Hospital yesterday.
Borella Police say that the girl, a resident of the Dayagama Estate in Hatton, had committed suicide and had been taken to the former minister's house by her parents a few months ago.
Accordingly, the government analyst had also visited the house and inspected the scene. The police had obtained statements from the residents of the house and the Borella Police are conducting further investigations.
