2020 General Election : SLPP secures victory in Galle District with 7 seats

The National Election Commission has released the final cumulative results of the Galle District.

 

Accordingly,  Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has secured a comfortable victory in the Galle District with  430,334 votes (70.5%) while winning 07 seats.

 

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) came in second, polling 115,456 votes (18.93%) , giving them  02 seats from the district.

 

In the meantime, Jathika Jana Balawegaya (JJB) emerged  third with 29,963 votes (4.91%) while the United National Party (UNP) managed to secure the fourth place with 18,968 votes (3.11%).

 

It should be noted that both Jathika Jana Balawegaya (JJB) and the United National Party (UNP) failed  to secure any seats in the Galle district.

 

Our Power of People Party (OPPP) has obtained  6,419 votes (1.05%) and the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) has polled  1,790 votes (0.29%).
