As we have already gained a thorough idea on the significance of filling in a job application and preparing a curriculum vitea from the previous lessons, we shall now move on to explore the other means of responding a job advertisement. You can send your response via a letter of application as well and it should be well drafted with all the required information prior to sending it to the employer. It should be written with proper language and spelling or grammar mistakes must be avoided. A properly written letter will lead the employer to develop a positive impression on you. It is advised to make a draft of the letter beforehand and it will help you to organize the content of the document smoothly and avoid any unnecessary, vague details. Due priority could be given to the significant areas and all information can be included through this. The content of the letter of application will typically cover the sender’s name and address, the date, the receiver’s name, designation and address, the subject or the title of the letter, the body of the letter, a crisp, attractive closing and the signature of the applicant.

 

 

The body of the letter must be embedded with the details in relation to the advertisement such as the source, the date, the post and the company. You may also include your qualifications, skills and achievements in brief while emphasizing on the significant areas appropriately. It should be noted that you should send the letter of application prior to the deadline stated in the advertisement. That is, the employer must receive your letter before the closing date and timely response will avoid possible delays in post and allow the employer to make future decisions appropriately. It will also enable the employer to get a clear idea on the job seeker’s profile and his or her enthusiasm towards the job vacancy.
