US Navy successfully uses drone to refuel when flying
The US Navy has successfully used a Boeing MQ 25 T1 drone to refuel an airplane during its flight.
The unmanned Boeing was linked with F/A-18 Super Honet during a June 4 test flight.
The manufacturer has stated that the T1 has already 25 test flights and evaluated both its aerodynamics and air refueling systems.Also itis scheduled to be sent to an aircraft carrier in Virginia for further testing by the end of the year.
The Defense Department has awarded Boeing $ 805million contract in order to develop the aircraft and it is hoped to fill the tanker role which is played by F/A-18 currently.
