A Stone from Sitaeliya to Ayodhya Temple

The trustees of the famous Ram temple are to receive a stone from  Sita Eliya in the district of Nuwaraeliya. It’s beloved that Sita was held captive by Ravana at Sithaeliya and the temple there is very much a place visited by Indian devotees.

 

The stone will be used in the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Sri Lankan High Commissioner-designate to India, Milinda Moragoda wll be handing over the stone to the trustees of the Ayodhya temple.

 

The Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka Moragoda tweeted:, “A stone from Sita Eliya in Sri Lanka for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be a pillar of strength for India-Sri Lanka ties. This stone was received at Mayurapathi Amman Temple by High Commissioner-designate of Sri Lanka to India Milinda Moragoda in presence of the High Commissioner.”
