Promotions to 567 Army officers and 10,369 other ranks

On the recommendation of Army Commander General Shavendra Silva and President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, 567 Army officers and 10,369 other officers have been promoted to mark the 72nd anniversary of the Army.

The Biological Brigadier has been promoted to the rank of Major General with 8 Brigadiers, the Brigadier with 17 Colonels, 42 Lieutenant Colonels to the rank of Colonel, 60 Majors to Lieutenant Colonel, 256 Captains to the rank of Major, 10.

Lieutenants have been promoted to the rank of Captain, 152 Lieutenants to the rank of Lieutenant and 22 probation officers to the rank of Lieutenant (QM).

The Army has announced that 3,873 promotions and 78,707 promotions have been made since the appointment of General Shavendra Silva Silva as the Army Commander on August 18, 2019.
